He looks like that because...

I just told him about this...

We are thrilled to announce the coming of our 5th blessing! He or She is 8 weeks right now and is estimated to make an arrival on January 12, 2009. I think it has the most beautiful heartbeat I've ever seen...but I could be a bit biased.

Why does Dan look like this??

Any guesses??

Ashton's last soccer game...

Ashton is the one with the blue ball cap.

was awesome! It was really hot, but the kids played hard. Our team only had 5 players so there was no rest for anyone. Ashton did wonderful. He almost made 3 goals. The other team was using defense (which is illegal in their 4/5 year old league) so he didn't have much of a chance. He sure tried though. Finally one of the moms on our team had enough and made a big enough stink about it that they quit using their defense...about 3 minutes before the game ended. We had a great time this season. Ashton is sad that it's over, but his coach said he would contact us if he found an indoor summer league. Ashton worked so hard. He was running so hard even at the end of the hour long game in the 80 degree weather. We're so proud of him!!

I'm back!

I've been a miserable blogger lately. For the past 2 weeks dan has been taking the laptop to work/school with him so I haven't been able to download pictures and blog. We've also been getting ready for Q to take his summer trip to his mom's. He left yesterday. It's very strange how quiet the house is now. We're already missing his companionship and help.

Dan is doing great on his MBA work. In 2 weeks he finished 2 classes. The is the summer "boot camp" session and it's very intense. He has class 4 days a week from 8am-4pm. He wakes up super early to PT, study and do stuff for his real job. Then he goes to school, comes home and eats, plays with the kids for a hour or 2 and gets right to studying. Most nights I've been long asleep before he comes to bed. It's paying off though. He got 100% on his first project and acct. test and 95% on his most recent test (can't recall what it was for).
When he's not studying or playing with the kids he's out working hard in the vegetable garden. We've got some beautiful squash that is so close to being ready, some tiny bell and jalapeno peppers and tomato flowers. I'm really excited about the tomatoes. We've already decided I'm going to need to learn to can so that we can make tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, salsa and spaghetti sauce...the basil is already coming (it's sooo good) and we can add it to that!

That's what we've been up to.
