Baseball

Ashton is playing on a club team this season.  They have won a couple of games which is a huge improvement over last season already.  With Landon's rec games and the girls' volleyball games I don't get to many of Ashton's games since they are way across the island.  It's such a treat to see him play when we do get to go.  Again...new camera attempts.

Trying to be artsy with the helmets.  Ashton's is the blue one in front.
His over-zealous cheering section before the game starts.
Running off the field from warm-ups.
 Ready to play.

Solid hit, but out at first.  I didn't get the camera up in time to get a good shot.  And I was accidentally shooting in manual.
 Catcher is his favorite position.

They turned a double play which was awesome for them.
This and the following pictures are of his fielding a ball at third and throwing the kid out at first.

Volleyball

The girls had their first volleyball game and absolutely loved it.  My thoughts on volleyball were only of the JR. high girls that played when I went to St. Peter.  Not exactly the best memories, but I basically had no idea what to expect.  It was exciting, fun and very cute.  The girls played way better than I thought they would and both girls served well and scored points.
I appreciate their coach very much.  She is very soft spoken and calm, yet encouraging.  After each play when a girl makes an error she calmly tells them how to correct their form for the next time.  I was also suprised by how supportive all the girls are of each other.  There are a lot of high 5's and 'it's ok' said when one of them can't serve it over or return the ball.  They all play hard and seem to want to be there.  They really hope to continue in this sport, but I am not sure if it will work with the changes the base league is making to their youth sports.  We will try though.  I did my best to take action shots of the girls with the new camera.

So I Got a New Camera
