It's a BOY!!

Well, today we went in for our 20 week ultrasound. We almost didn't get it done due to my insurance not covering 20 week u/s anymore. However, I have hyperthyroid and because of that they wanted one.

We took all the kids. All the boys thought it would be a boy and the little girl thought it would be a girl. L was so cute, he said "I think it's a boy, but I want it to be a girl so she can grow up and have a baby in her tummy". He was also pretty cute at the u/s when he told me to drink some water so we could see it fall on the baby. The ultrasound tech got us great pictures. We were able to see 10 beautiful fingers and toes and of course the little boy parts. I saw them right away, but then it was a minute before she went back to confirm. The boys were thrilled, but kind of lost interest after they found out it was a boy. For a second I saw him flash the I love you sign and was so thrilled about it. He kept putting his arms up over his head just like a newborn. We were able to get pictures of his hands and one picture of him waving at us.

Our office has a big screen TV up in the corner of the room that makes it very easy for mom and family to view the u/s. It was so nice not to have to twist my neck around to see the screen.

I was almost in tears during the u/s, just being able to see what a wonder is growing in me.

I praise YOU for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

I couldn't stop hearing this verse in my head as I watched the wonder inside me!

After the u/s we took the kids to chuck e. cheese (L's birthday today) and went and did some shopping at carter's to get a couple of new things for the baby. My friend sent a TON of baby boy things to me a month or so ago so I thinkI'm set, but we wanted to go pick out a coming home outfit and let the kids pick out something so they'll feel included.

We are so excited and thrilled.

Learning something new

After visiting the Laura Ingalls Wilder house and museum, I was inspired to learn how to hand embroider. It's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be (although I'm not doing anything too difficult), and it works out perfectly for a creative outlet. I haven't been able to sew much as Dan's home at night and likes to visit in the evening. It's just too hard to watch a movie with the sewing machine going! However, I can embroider and visit at the same time. Not to mention it's super cheap and very portable. It doesn't take up nearly as much room as sewing does. Here are a couple of my very first projects...

I copied this caterpillar out of a Care Bear coloring book :)

My next project is a bonnet girl on a "flour sack". I'm hoping it will work well as a pretty towel to put in my bread basket. I'll post pics if it turns out!

I love a deal!

Yesterday I ran into goodwill to look for a large stock pot. I'd like to be able to double soup recipies, but I can't with my current large pot. While I didn't find a stock pot, I did happen upon a "midnight madness sale". So I walked out with a pair of gap jeans, lands inn khakis (perfect condition!), and old navy shorts...all for Q, for 99 cents each! Not to mention I also found a pyrex measuring cup with a pouring spout to use for when we make soap! It seems so silly, but I almost skipped out to the car I was so excited!

Then the next day we were driving and spotted a garage sale. I got an aquarium cradle swing and baby einstein exersaucer for $30...for both! This was such a blessing. I had sold that exact swing and exersaucer thinking we weren't going to have anymore babies :)

Thank you, Lord, for always suppling our needs...and many of our wants!

Soccer season is done!

The boys each played this year which meant 3 practices a week and 3 games every Sat. morning. It was a lot, but they loved it and we enjoyed watching them play. Landon was a little hesitant at the beginning of the season, but he was really into it by the end! His coach told us he deserved the most improved player. It's so cute to watch him play. He can kick the ball hard and far...now he just needs to remember to keep running after it once he kicks it!
Quintin enjoyed his playing, but thinks he likes acting better :) He's not too fond of running around in the heat and often complains that his legs get tired during the games. LOL However, he was one of the best players on his team this year and we're hoping he'll continue to play.

Ashton moved up to the 6-7 year olds and did great. He's a hard worker who just wants to play. I think he would have really liked his Daddy to be coaching! Maybe next year. We just didn't know how we could be at all the games at once.

What I've been sewing...

I made an apron for Eryn's wedding shower. I also made a pot holder and some dish towels but forgot to take a picture of those...

I also FINALLY finished Landon's Cars quilt. It only took a year! Off and on of course :) He really wanted me to make him a "soft" blanket so I used minkee for the back. Oh my was it hard to work with!! But he loves it and I'm so glad it's finally finished for him to use. His old quilt was from when he was a baby and it hardly covered his feet anymore.

Farm Trip

Here we are visiting the farm where we now get our raw cow's milk. It's a beautiful place! I can't believe I forgot to get a picture of the cute jersey's that supply our milk, though.

Thea's Ballet Recital!!!

I am so behind in my blogging! This recitle was actually in mid-May. It was so cute and we loved watching her dance. It was almost as fun as getting to dress her up in the cute little costume. In the winter recitle she didn't dance too much, but this time she actually followed the steps and looked like she was getting the hang of this ballet thing :)
