Happy Friday!

Hello Friday!  We are excited to see the weekend and are even more excited for a very big day this coming Monday.
We started off the day at PE.  Dan asked me to take some pictures of the kids playing field hockey.  I had a hard time getting close enough to get any good pictures.  I didn't even make it over to the volleyball court where Q was playing.  See the park in the background?  That's where the littles and I hang out and chat with the other moms.  Thea is in the purple.

Landon getting ready to defend the goal.

After PE we did some errands.  We hit Savers (my new favorite thrift store) and I found a baby Einstein video I'd been looking for forever and Honey for a Child' Heart.  I returned a bunch of stuff to Old Navy (thanks to finding thing I needed for way less at Savers) and got the kids McDonald for lunch.  It sounded like a good idea at the time, but I won't do that again for a loooooong while.

After we ate lunch the kids got into making ant habitats in jars.  I got some random motivation and was able to do some sewing during naptime.  I was looking on etsy for some accessories for Mareea's baby doll and found a cute doll diaper bag.  I considered buying it, but decided $40 was too much to spend.  I haven't sewn in awhile (just haven't been in the mood), but decided to try this.  I let M pick the fabric and I was able to make this cute bag in about an hour.
With her baby.  We put her baby' blanket and a toy inside.

The lining is pink.
I kind of got on a roll with a the sewing machine and made this skirt with an appliqued T-shirt for Mareea.  I want to make one for Thea, but she doesn't wear skirts!  I need to figure out pants I think.  This was also really easy.  I hope she like it!

Quintin is 13!!!!

We LOVE birthdays here at the Bond house. We plan an activity, cake and fun meals on the special day. We take the day off of school and spend the day celebrating the person whose birthday it is. I love being able to spoil them for day. Letting them eat macaroni and cheese, buying them presents and watching whatever movie they want. Q had a great day and I hope he remembers it forever!

Q chose bowling for his activity.  It's the month of the military child and they had great rates!  Hickam AFB has such a great alley.  I'm thankful for the military benefits we get.
Thea chose an awesome outfit for Q's big day.  Q actually found this shirt for her at Saver and it's her favorite.
We had a big dinner at Outback that night.  Q could hardly walk he was so full.  He was thrilled to have steak for dinner...that wasn't on the kid' menu!

We missed Dan a lot, but we had a great day!  Happy birthday, Quintin!

Easter

This is late, but I wanted to post some pictures from our Easter Sunday.  I was having a hard time that day because we had thought Dan would be home.  He is the one who really goes all out with the egg hunts and helps me get a good picture of the kids.  We were so blessed to have a church that organized a brunch and several activities after the service.  The kids had a wonderful time and it was a great Easter.  Christ is risen!

So today the door was shut on us moving into base housing.  The only way it will happen is if we end up getting another tour in Hawaii and we could then possibly move into housing at the end of the year.  However, I'm not thinking we will get another tour here (there's just not a lot of jobs for Dan) so I've been thinking about how I can really make this house our home.
For some reason kitchen curtains are at the top of my list.  The previous owners left some chicken curtains and I really hate them.  I didn't want to sew them because I seem to not have a lot of energy for that lately, but I'm not sure I'll find anything I like for a price I can afford.  I looked on pinterest and found this picture.  While I don't like the fabric they used, I do like the muslin mixed with cotton.  I think i even have muslin in a bin in the garage somewhere...
I think what I like the best is how clean the counters are.  Ours are like that once every two weeks right after the cleaning lady comes :)
