Our Schedule

After several frustrating days in a row feeling like my children were constantly running around the house screaming and not listening, I instituted a schedule. Wow! What a difference it has made! It keeps us on task and we get so much accomplished. I did not assign a time to each task because we do not wake up at the same time every morning (because Mareea's sleeping is so irregular still) and because there are so many interruptions with little ones. Someone has a poopy diaper or spills a cup and you're suddenly 10 minutes behind schedule! I divided the schedule into morning, afternoon and evening and we have been doing a great job staying on task for the past few days.

Pardon the nasty paper it is on. I figured I might need to change things around and did not want to use expensive poster board until we had things figured out.
The mornings are when we get the most done. We eat breakfast while I read devotions and nurse the baby. Afterwards we all help with the chores. We're using the motivated mommies chore chart and it's working very well. Monday Ashton cleaned the toilets, Landon replenished the toilet paper and changed the bathroom hand towels, I vacuumed downstairs and cleaned the tubs/showers. I just divide up the chores for each day and we get to work. They are such good helpers. Most of the time they even help with a happy heart.
After chores Mareea takes a nap and the kids get out their blankets for read aloud time. Each child has a toy and is to play with it on their own blanket while listening to the book. Right now we are reading The Swiss Family Robinson. I am very surprised at how well they are understanding what is going on, as even I do not know what all the words mean!
After reading, I exercise while the kids play outside on the deck where I can see them. Today we're in the basement because it's raining. I am not exercising because...i don't' feel like it and blogging is more fun!
After outside time the kids watch a movie while I make lunch.
And that's our morning! I won't bore you with afternoon or evening now.
Kid's are getting whiney and into things so i'd better get back to my schedule.
