Well, after we returned from family camp on Friday, we sped into action getting the house ready to put on the market. Dan had finished the painting and remodeling before we left, but we still had a lot of decluttering and cleaning to do before the realtor could come and take pictures. She came yesterday and I am so glad to be done with that! Now my house is clean and I'm really enjoying it. I love not having toys and books everywhere. To keep it clean, I've been doing group activities throughout the day. Circle time, art time, school time, etc. We all stay in the same area and play with the same thing (pretty much) and then I can make sure it's cleaned up before we move onto the next thing. I do really need to get more of a schedule going again. Otherwise, they want to run away the second we finish something and get something out or tear something up.
Today we painted with watercolors, made cards for grandpa's birthday and finger painted with shaving creme on poster board. I would love to take them to the park, but I have no energy this point in pregnancy and it would be so hard for me to chase everyone and keep an eye on them. It's not as hot as it was, but it's still too hot for me to be much good. I'm going to look for some science projects and coloring pages online here to make sure we're busy tomorrow.
Right now we're learning Great is Thy Faithfulness and My Hope is Built on Nothing Less for memorization/hymn study and we need to get back into learning our fighter verses. Fighter verses is our church's children's memory program. After you memorize the first 5 verses you receive a tote bag and then for each subsequent verse they receive a star to put on the bag. Even Landon has earned his bag and works on memorization. Thea is still learning her 1st verse, but I haven't been as good with her about it as I should. Here's a picture of Landon saying his verses a couple of Sundays ago. If you look closely you can see Ashton whispering in his ear to help him with the "address" of the verse. Ashton's just a couple of verses in front of Landon so he usually remembers them. Landon benefits by listening to Ashton practice his and then can pick them up quickly when it's his turn to learn them.
Oh...and I wanted to say that having my house this clean and decluttered is making me never want to shop or buy anything ever again!
