We are finishing up our end of the year testing and then taking a couple of months off of formal schooling to have lots of time for fun summer activities. Here's some "light learning" we will be doing this week.

Hymn memorization: verse 2 of Be Thou My Vision
Vocab. words of the week: admonish and jeer
Poem memorization: verse 3 of Wynken, Blynken and Nod
Artist study: Monet
Family read aloud: Finish Ramona Forever and start Old Yeller. 1 John
Science read aloud: Gorillas Zoobook magazine and How Animals Sleep
Art Activity: Salt dough
Field trips/activities: Soccer camp for older boys and park with friends for the girls. Possibly a beach trip one morning.

Q-Ten P's in a Pod, The Signers
A-Yankee Doodle Boy, The Periodic Table
L-Hello Miss Piggle Wiggle, Great Explorers
Math facts: addition 1-3's.
