In the beginning I tried to keep the little reds out of the sun until their sunscreen was soaked in better. It did not last long.
Instead of traditional sand toys (all ours are broken or lost), I've been collecting random containers from around the house to use on our next beach trip. We have wash basins, a 5 gallon home depot bucket, yogurt containers and a thermos with a broken top to play with now. In this picture we're making a "baby pool" for Gideon. He really loved jumping in it and making a big splash. He would splash all the water out and bring us buckets asking for, "more, more".
Daddy had to help carry this large bucketfull of water.
Daddy making a more natural baby pool for Giddy.
Baby in a water filled bucket. About 5 seconds later it fell over backwards. Thankfully no one was hurt.
Thea figured out how to balance on her new "surf board". She had to work really hard to stay on whever the waves came in.
Q and A playing with Giddy on the big tube.
No caption needed for this cute picture.
I can't even begin to explain what a blessing it was to have Dan home all day. He has been working so very, very hard and so very, very late. Even Saturdays are work days now. It's hard on the kids and hard on me, but I know it's hardest on him. Having just one day to go play and grill out and watch fireworks felt like heaven.
