Fun at home

Today was a fun day! The principal officially declared Christmas break as starting today and we've been lazy, productive and creative! First, Thea and I made play doh courtesy of the recipe we found at Angel Navy Wife. It turned out so well and was super easy. We couldn't find our food coloring, but we located it this evening and plan to make some colorful play-doh tomorrow!

Next we baked sugar cookies. The kids had a blast rolling out the dough and using the cookie cutters. I read to put wax paper between the rolling pin and dough to keep it from sticking. It helped so much! Before I dreaded making anything with a rolling pin, but this made it so easy.

After we finished the cookies, the kids took turns playing the Wii. We don't have one, but we rented one from the Family Video for 2 days. While I'm not a big fan of video games in general, it's nice to have something fun on a cold day like today. Not being able to get outside much really makes everyone stir crazy!

I have pictures, but not on this computer. Will have to upload them later!
