This morning we went to church. We decided to go to the chapel on base instead of the church we had been going to. I like the other church, but thought perhaps the chapel would have some other bible studies and programs more geared towards military. They do. I'm excited about getting involved in the women's bible study. They also have some other neat ministries that I'm looking forward to learning about. I'm not sure what church we'll go to...I'll let Dan decide that, but we have a couple of good options.
Thea was the only one who would go to children's church. It's fine, but I like for at least one of her brothers to be there with you. Apparently some boy said he was her boyfriend and she was talking about that after. I was livid. I know it's not that big of a deal, but to me it really is. I want her to be able to go and learn about the fruits of the spirit and make crowns, but I don't want her to hear a bunch of crap...we're at church for Pete's sake! I'm not surprised by this, some incident always happens when they go to Sunday school/nursery/child care, but it's still annoying. Next week either they all go and stick together or no one goes.
At home I decided to skip naps for everyone but Gideon and make some bread and butter. We've been watching some of the Homestead Blessings DVDs together and one of them was called The Art of Dairy Delights and showed how to make butter. Here's ours. It was fun and easy to make. I think it tastes good, too. I'm sure it would be better if it were cream from raw milk, but we did with what we could find. In the jar next to the bowl is the buttermilk we poured off. I think we'll try and make pancakes with that.
I stuck it into a cookie mold and we're hoping it will make a pretty "heart" of butter. This is only 1/2 of the butter we made (or less). The rest we mixed with honey to make "honey butter" and will eat in on the cranberry oat bread Ashton made in the breadmaker. Can't wait for breakfast tomorrow!
Quintin made the world's best homemade pizza for dinner tonight and we watched Ice Age and had ourselves a movie night.
I started the movie so it would end with enough time for us to go on a walk and get the TV crazies out. However, it started to rain the second the movie was over so we played outside in the backyard instead. The boys had a great time playing dodge ball and Mareea and I threw the ball back and forth.
Mareea funny. (I am teaching her how to catch a ball)
Mama: put your arms together
mareea: I missed it!
Mama: You have to keep your arms together. You opened them and the ball fell through the middle.
Mareea: Oh! You missed it, Mama! You should have kept your arms together!!
In my defense, she threw the ball at my face :)
She's so cute.
We had much needed tubbies, read books and went to bed. I folded the weeks laundry and made the weeks chore list for the kids. Now if I can just get a menu for the week...
This is Gideon pre-tubby. Apparently he was eating dirt??
Happy Sunday!!
