Every year we spend a day baking Christmas cookies. It can get kind of crazy, but it really is one of my favorite days of the year. Each child gets to pick a kind of cookie to make and we help them as needed. Quintin did his completely on his own, Ashton just needed some help with the oven and with figuring out the right size to make the cookies and the litter ones needed constant help. Making cookies with Giddy was...wow...it was intense, but the cookies were so good and he was so excited about it. We have lots of cookies and hopefully a lot of memories.
One funny thing happened when we first started baking. I always buy raw sugar or turbinado, but decided to just buy the cheap stuff for our baking. When I poured it into a bowl Landon said, "is that salt?", I laughed and told him it was sugar. Ashton immediately, said, "that's sugar?" He didn't even recognize a sugar bag when he saw it since he's so used to seeing it come in the clear container. It reminds me of the time an adult told my kids something was like an oreo...to which they looked confused and I realized they did not know what an oreo was!
