A morning at the farmer's market

Today we visited the Kapiolani Farmer's Market for the first time.  It was crazy!  So many, many people.  Next time we will get there when they open at 7:30 to try and avoid the tour buses and crowds.  However, it was a lot of fun to get to see all the different stalls and get some local produce for our family.  I love to see the flowers, too.  I see so many beautiful farmer's market pictures and tried to take some myself.  Hawaii is a little bit different than the mainland's markets and thought someone might be interested.

Driving up to the market you can see the Diamond Head crater.  Not the best picture, but from this angle I could really see it's crater-ness.  We have hiked it before I don't remember thinking "crater" while I did so this was a good angel to see it from.
My very favorite fruit, papayas!  I don't really like them at the grocery store, but fresh they are to die for!
Greens.  A lot of these came home with us.
You can sort of see the crowds in this picture.  Gideon usually wants to walk, but after seeing how many people were around he was more than happy to ride on Daddy's back.
Locally grown pineapples.  They are not as common as one would think.  Dole moved their farms to South America (I believe).  These were grown in Kunia and a certain variety that is supposed to be less acidic.

This is one of the prettiest cycad bushes I have seen.
I dug out the ring sling for this trip and really liked wearing E on my hip in it.  I will be keeping it out.
 Our treat, Hawaiian sweet bread.
My little cutie hanging out in the front seat.

We went by the dance store on the way home because Thea's little feet got bigger.  New tap, ballet and jazz shoes came home with us :)
And this is our loot.  $30 for all.  So worth it.
