Opening Day

We had such a great day today.  Ashton, Landon and Thea had their "opening day" for their baseball teams and it went so well.  I enjoyed watching them tremendously.  Ashton's game was over at KBay so I did not get to see his, but I got to take Landon and Thea to theirs.  Landon hit the first pitch at bat and Thea stole home.  I felt like a crazy mom yelling and cheering.  I just couldn't stop!  Next game I will do better.

When we got home Ashton told me they had won their game by a landslide and that he had gotten some hits so that was fun, too.  I always feel badly for the team that loses big, however.

I had mentioned to Dan the other day that I wanted to put some flowers out front.  He has been getting very involved in vegetable gardening in our back yard and I thought it would be good to plant something, too, and make our house look brighter.  I'm not a big fan of garden decor, but I do like flowers.  We will see how long they survive.  The girls each bought and painted a pot and picked a flower to go in it.  They look so good.  They really spent time painting them to make them look nice.  I'm thinking maybe I'll send a couple of them to grandma for her birthday.  One day I would love to have a garden that I can cut flowers for to decorate our house.

Mareea was such a sweet sister today.  We got some books from the book sale before the baseball game and she read so many of them to Gideon and Evangeline while I watched the baseball game.  It would have been so much harder without here.  Really, all of them were so good during the game.
