We started back to school on Monday with our new
MFW curriculum. I was so nervous the night before and our first official day was terrible for me! After asking the children what they had thought of school and hearing them say they thought it was fun, I decided the problem must be with me. I did some thinking and realized that I had been super stressed and frustrated during the day trying to figure out what was coming next and get everyone to sit still and keep the girls occupied. Day 2 I made some changes. We did some school on the floor where I could interact and play with the little girls while I read aloud. After that the boys went to the table to do their math and LA. This worked out so much better. Day 3 was similar to day 2 and I think I may have even enjoyed it! We're learning about creation, dinosaurs and how light works. Today we found that our eyes have blind spots by using a quick simple experiment involving 2 dimes.
School is only taking us a few hours in the morning so we have the afternoon to do fun things and rest. We'll see how things go from here!!
This isn't formal school, but we spend a good chunk of time counting out a year's worth of change this weekend. Turns out we had saved $99 in that big pickle jar! Look carefully at Mareea. She's pocketing as much change as she can! Dan found about $5 worth in her pockets as we were going to have it counted at the Kroger!
