Two months

My baby is two months! Where did the time go? It's hard to believe that two months ago I was sitting in the hospital holding him. Now life seems to be getting into a "new normal" and going on just as it should. We're back to school, chores and cooking and I seem to have recovered fully. Other than some extra baby weight I'd like to see gone, I feel wonderful.
Gideon is so good. He sleeps with me at night and will sleep from 11-4:30 before waking up to eat and then again until 7:30. I love co-sleeping. Normally, I don't like it and it hurts my back, but little Gid likes to be cuddly and will sleep just perfectly with me. Nursing is so much easier that way. I don't even have to sit up!
The two month mark seems to have brought on a big increase in sight! He loves to lay on his play mat and look up at the toys and give them big smiles. He can also tell when mama's walking away and does not especially like that. Good thing he has 5 older siblings to come and entertain him on a constant basis. They love to talk to him and get so excited whenever their baby smiles at them. Gid takes his naps in the swing for now, but I'm trying to figure out what we're going to do without it when we move!
I'm so sad to know this precious newborn time is going by so quickly, but loving the smiling baby he's becoming! Yesterday, there was a rare moment of quiet in the house and I found myself at total peace rocking my sleeping baby in complete quiet and watching snow fall out my window. I'm doing my best to savor each moment of this time. I know from experience that it will be gone before I know it!
