Happy Independance Day!!

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful long weekend.  We have so much Daddy time we don't know what to do with ourselves!  Yesterday we visited a park with a freshwater beach and went to Babies R Us.  If you know me, the trip to BRU just made my week.  It's sort of lame, but I really enjoy looking at baby gear and seeing all the cute pregnant women around me...even if they are buying and registering for a ton of things they don't really need :)  We were also able to find a lot of summer clothes for Gideon on clearance that he really needed.  He looks adorable in this outfit!  He's also doing his best to eat some grass.

Isn't that red, spikey hair adorable?

Today we went hiking on a nice trail that let to a large rock the children could climb up on.  The boys did really well with this, but Thea fell into a thorny bush on the way up and had to be rescued by Daddy and Quintin.  It was traumatizing enough that Dan had to carry her almost the whole hike back.  This would not have been a big deal except that he was carrying Mareea on his back in the Ergo, too.  I had Gid on my back in Dan's mei tai.  I made him a camo mei tai for his birthday that he never used and I finally decided to try it out myself.  I really love how it fits (even better than my Ergo) and have used it a ton this weekend.

In other big news, Gideon has started to scoot!  I guess it's crawling, but I'm not sure he knows exactly what he's doing yet.  He's gotten into the crawling "position" and moved a couple of...er....crawls I guess you would call it!  He's not quite 7 1/2 months which is earlier than Thea, Mareea and Landon crawled.  Ashton beat him by starting right before 7 months.  I think Gid would have crawled earlier, but everyone carries him around, our hard wood floors are slippery and he's really big!  It's hard to drag all that weight around!  I'm not worried about it at all though.  Each baby does things in their own time.
