I'm a follower of Jesus, a military wife married to a hard working, involved man and a mom to 7. Our lives revolve around homeschooling, books, baseball (watching and playing), AWANA, piano, cello and gymnastics. Here are my honest thoughts on trying to make it all work and live life for the Lord the best I can.

checkin' in
Well, I exercised 7 days in a row, took 1 off and started up again today! That is a record for me. I'm so very encouraged to still be striving to reach my goal over a week later. It sounds silly, but I've always been quick to give up on changing my eating and exercise habits. Turbo Jam still rocks. I did the 45 minute workout a couple of times and it's very, very hard, but still fun. I can't wait until I can do that workout without feeling like there are lead weights in my shoes. Today I had to stop at 32 minutes because Gideon needed to eat. That's OK. I'm happy to feed my baby and I'm thankful I was able to get in 32 minutes. I joined sparkpeople.com to track my calories and workouts. I have a long way to go to get my caloric intake where it should be. It's hard to cut down while nursing. Nursing hunger is no joke! Being pregnant makes me hungry, but nursing is a whole different level. It's understandable though, I'm completely supplying food for a person growing at a very fast rate. My biggest change in eating is that I'm eating more slowly and chewing each bite 20-30 times. This has made a huge difference in how much I eat during meals. I am full much more quickly and with less food doing this. It's been a great discovery for me. It does not take any sacrifice and helps me eat less. Everyone wins! I'm reading a book called Reshaping it All, by Candace Cameron. Remember DJ from Full House? It's her...25 pounds lighter. It's very motivating and speaks about how being a follower of Christ and being healthy are connected. I highly recommend it! And...it's my first Kindle purchase. Dan was shocked. He bought it for my for Christmas and I'm finally using it over 3 months later! GIDEON SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST NIGHT!!! Big news here!
