So I blogged awhile ago about starting Turbo Jam and how much I enjoyed it. Well, i still do! It continues to be a great workout and I can feel myself getting stronger and tighter. Today I finished week number 4 of working out 5-6 times a week. Last week I finally got a measuring tape and measured myself and can't wait to re-measure each week and see if i'm losing inches. This week I was not so good with healthy eating so I'm not sure I will have lost any, but I'm about to go check. While researching diets, workouts and meal plans I came to the conclusion that any program I choose has to be a way I can live forever. For instance, I will never go on a yogurt only diet...because as soon as I quit the yogurt I'd go back to eating the way I did before and gain all the weight back! What changes I make have to be a way that I stick to and live with from now on. We've been doing very well with portion control at meals and eating more vegtables. I continue to struggle with soda, sweet tea and cookies. ack! It's so dumb of me to work out so hard and then blow it when I see my fav. cookies at the commisary on sale for $1.99. However, each change I make and day that I eat healthy is an improvement and I'm continuing to work on it.
I'm a follower of Jesus, a military wife married to a hard working, involved man and a mom to 7. Our lives revolve around homeschooling, books, baseball (watching and playing), AWANA, piano, cello and gymnastics. Here are my honest thoughts on trying to make it all work and live life for the Lord the best I can.

way to go! i agree about implementing changes that you can live with "forever"...although be nice to yourself - i think part of the fun of eating and living healthy is that when you occasionally need a cookie or a sweet beverage to jazz things up, you can do so guilt-free because you know 95% of the time you give your body what it needs. everybody needs to splurge and have a special treat as a reward for all that hard work.
