Thea (4) and Mareea (2)'s favorite library books this week

I love children's books.  I love to read to my children and believe that some of the best bonding I have done with my kids has been snuggled on the couch/bed/floor with a book.  Books have become like friends to me and to them and they love to be read to.  I especially love books for the preschool age.  They're short, have great pictures and have happy endings!  Here's what Thea and Mareea have loved reading this week...

The Wild Baby Goes to Sea

This is such a cute book!  My mom picked this out as she had read the origional Wild Baby to my brother when he was little.  It's in rhymn which I also love.

The Surprise Party

Cute animals play a real life game a telephone that makes us all laugh.

This is the Bear and the Picnic Lunch
Even Ashton (7) thinks this one is funny.  He enjoyed reading it aloud to the girls.  Also in rhyme.

Under the Sun by, Ellen Kandoian

A mama tells her daughter how the sun travels across the earth after it goes down where they live.  Sounds too hard for little ones, but it's not.  We got out the map and talked about all the places mentioned in the book.

Barnyard Banter

Fun book about animal sounds that is also in rhyme.

Rumble Thumble Boom! (no picture on amazon)

My girls (especially Mareea) are so very scared of lightning.  This book is about a little boy who convinces his mom and dad to move to the sofa couch so that they all can sleep together along with the dog during a lightning storm.  They really enjoyed and related to the book!
