The girls' room

I have almost completed decorating one room in this house at least!  I love how the girls' room came together.  I'd still like to get them matching quilts and hang up a couple more pictures, but for the most part it's done!

Side one.  Dresser we got off of CL for T before she was born and painted.  The shelf I got at the Sal Val (salvation army) for Ashton when he was a baby.  It was blue and now is pink.  The ballerina girl on the shelf was given to me by my parents when I was oh...9 maybe?  The picture frame on the shelf was also mine as a girl and has a picture of little me in it.  Gosh I looked a lot like Landon!!  Picture frames on the wall had my maternity pictures in it from Thea, but now have pictures of favorite children's books...Ox Cart Man and When I was Young in the Mountains.  It's funny.  I was upset that I didn't have wooden frames to put the pictures in, but didn't want to buy frames since I had the white ones.  Now that they're up, I think it look good!  It ties the pink and white of the room together well with the pictures. When we have a less historical house I will probably use books like Caps for Sale and Madeline also.

Side Two.  M's dresser and mirror were bought at a yard sale for $15.  The pink circles match the pink and white theme of the room so I never painted over them, but I'm not sure if I want to keep it that way forever.  More recycled white frames with Ox Cart Man pictures and some special gifts of the past on the dresser.

Close up of the bonnet my mom's friend made me as a girl.  It fits Mareea now.  The pillow was also made by a friend of my mom's, but for Benjamin.  And below that is a close up picture of some of the pictures on the walls.
